The Network Architecture and Management Group of the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece offers two research positions in the area of Next Generation Internet. Details for each of the positions are given below.
– Position Code: ΝΑΜ-RES1:
Title: Full Stack researcher for web technologies.
Short Description: Full stack web and hybrid mobile app researcher using technologies such as Angular on the front-end and Node.js on the back-end.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Relevant experience building and deploying internet enabled (web, mobile, services) software systems and services
- Experience with back-end technologies (Node.js framework)
- Experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and Angular)
- Familiarity with testing and debugging
- Familiarity with OOP design principles
- Proficient understanding of source control tools such as GIT
- Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments
- BSc or MSc
- High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English (Greek language is a plus, but it is not required)
Desired Qualifications:
- NoSQL database experience highly desirable (Mongo)
- Docker experience highly desirable
- User experience capabilities / Good basic UX design sense.

– Position Code: ΝΑΜ-RES2:
Title: Experienced researcher for NFV technologies.
Short Description: The researcher will design and implement management functionality in an NFV testbed environment and corresponding development tools for VNFs and service deployment.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Experience in cloud computing and network virtualization systems
- Network protocols design and implementation
- Good Linux programming skills
- Experience in working with open source
- Proficient understanding of source control tools such as GIT
- BSc or MSc
- High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English (Greek language is a plus, but it is not required)
Desired Qualifications:
- SDN controllers and platforms (OpenDayLight, ONOS), OpenStack, Virtualized Cloud Computing, Hypervisors
- Linux drivers development
- PhD
